Friends, just wanted to let you know about some cool projects with coming audition deadlines and a relatively short and compressed time commitment. Hope you can jump on board and submit.

Curious Theatre Collective is looking to cast our next audio play!

Chinese Girls Wants Vote: The Story of Dr. Mabel Ping-Hua Lee By Jinna Kim.
Directed by Jessica Flemming

We are looking for 2 voice actors for the roles of:
-Dr. Mabel Ping-Hua Lee, 16 years old, Chinese American women’s rights activist, moments before she leads a march on horseback for women’s right to vote.
-Narrator, a non-male identifying person of Asian American or Pacific Islander heritage.

We will be accepting auditions until August 6 and decisions will be made by August 8. Recording will happen between August 9 and August 25. 

We are based in the triangle of North Carolina, but we have the ability to record virtually if you aren’t local. Auditions can be submitted through this link:

Please submit a Headshot/Resume, info about what projects/characters you are interested in, and a link to your audition video. Audition submission deadline is Saturday AUGUST 14. Decisions will be made in the following 2 days and actors must be ready to rehearse immediately. Rehearsals will primarily be virtual and there are expected to be around 5 sessions. No cash compensation, actors will receive a free 1-yr membership to CATG, if not already a member.

Your video submission can be something previously recorded that you already have published on a 3rd party video site like Youtube or Vimeo, or to create something for this audition specifically, please record a 1 minute cut of a monologue and upload it to a 3rd party site.

Jesus Pancake is the newest scripted audio fiction series from Artist Soapbox. Nine episodes of zany dark comedy.


The New Colossus

The New Colossus Audio Drama is a totally unhinged dark comedy reboot of Anton Chekhov’s classic play, THE SEAGULL.


Master Builder

This audio drama was adapted from Tamara’s 2018 stage play produced by Little Green Pig Theatrical Concern and inspired by Henrick Ibsen’s classic, The Master Builder published in 1892.


Declaration of Love

Co-producers Aurelia Belfield and Tamara Kissane of Artist Soapbox commissioned eleven NC playwrights to craft short audio scenes based on the prompt “Declaration of Love.”


Food for Thought

Three pilot episodes of new scripted audio fiction series inspired by the prompt Food for Thought.


ASBX Shorts

ASBX Shorts are six short audio fiction pieces created and produced by North Carolina artists. Artist Soapbox Shorts were specifically contributed by the artists to aid in fundraising and to get everyone excited about Jesus Pancake, our new audio fiction series in development.
