Join us for on March 28 for a reading of scripted audio fiction in progress!
Jesus Pancake is an audio fiction series being collaboratively written by the Soapbox Audio Collective, a team of local writers.
Microwaves, family secrets, spiders, friendship, and the Power of the Pancake converge in this dark comedy about a middle-aged woman reckoning with her power for the first time. Aimee is intrigued when a pancake she makes looks just like Jesus, until she realizes something truly profound and dangerous is at work.
- Episodes 1-3 will be read on March 28. (See below for details.)
- Episodes 4-6 will be read on April 13.
- Episode 7-9 will be read when they are finished!
Each reading will be followed by a conversation with the writers about collaborative writing and writing for audio. These are first draft episodes that need an audience to take them to the next level in their development.

Jesus Pancake was developed with the support of a 2019 Ella Fountain Pratt Emerging Artist Award through the Durham Arts Council. Piedmont Laureate programs receive support from the City of Raleigh Arts Commission, Durham Arts Council, Orange County Arts Commission and United Arts Council of Raleigh & Wake County.
