Piedmont Laureate presents:

Tools for Playwrights: A devised theatre workshop with Lormarev Jones

Playwriting is often a lonely enterprise, but it doesn’t have to be!

  • Have you wondered about strategies to engage other artists in your writing?
  • Have you grown tired of staring at a computer?

Find a new approach to your writing practice with this workshop on April 5th.

We will be writing (with pen and paper!) AND on our feet.

Lormarev Jones is a theatre artist and educator who currently commutes throughout the South and the Midwest.  Lormarev directs and choreographs for musical theatre and plays; she teaches young people how to foster their own creative voices.  She received her undergraduate education from Meredith College, Raleigh, NC and her MFA in Theatre from Sarah Lawrence College. With experience in solo performance, puppetry, stage management, and sound design, Lormarev is most drawn to new original works with interdisciplinary components.  When not on stage, you can find her at the bowling alley or analyzing a Colin Firth film.

Date: Sunday, April 5 from 2:00pm-4:00pm

Free and open to the public. Please register via the link below.
Participation is limited; there will be additional seats added for observers once the workshop is filled.

Location: Walnut Creek Wetland Park, 950 Peterson St., Raleigh, NC 27610

To register, please complete this form. Please be willing to move and collaborate with others. The workshop will be followed by a Q&A with Lormarev Jones.

Piedmont Laureate programs receive support from the City of Raleigh Arts Commission, Durham Arts Council, Orange County Arts Commission and United Arts Council of Raleigh & Wake County.
