007: Actor Thaddaeus Edwards reframes Vanya…and failure…and life

What is it like to play an iconic character in a “sort of” adaptation of a classic? How do we define failure? How do we punctuate our lives? Actor Thaddaeus Edwards wisely addresses loss, longing, and love as he describes inhabiting Vanya in LIFE SUCKS by Aaron Posner (an adaptation of Chekhov’s classic) at Manbites Dog Theater.

Thaddaeus Edwards, a North Carolinian by birth, is a performing arts professional who’s been featured on stage with Manbites Dog Theater, Little Green Pig Theatrical Concern, Cape Fear Regional Theatre, both hands theatre company, Flying Machine Theatre Company and more. By day, he works with the UNC School of Social Work and as a standardized patient at Duke Hospital and the American Board of Anesthesiology in Raleigh. Thaddaeus is playing Vanya in the production of LIFE SUCKS by Aaron Posner,  at Manbites Dog Theater in Durham. LIFE SUCKS runs October 26-November 11; for tickets, visit the Manbites Dog Theater website.
