JaMeeka Holloway-Burrell is a director, event curator, kick-ass former stage manager and the founder of The Black Ops Theatre Company, “a Durham-based theatre group dedicated to challenging preconceived notions (conscious and otherwise) on what Black Theatre should look like.” Earlier this year, JaMeeka held a prestigious FAIR assistantship with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival where she assistant directed the Merry Wives of Windsor. JaMeeka and Black Ops Theatre Company will be launching the Bull City Black Theatre Festival, a brand new theatre festival in March 2018 at Manbites Dog Theater in Durham.
